LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a meeting, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Jamat-e-Islaami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq exchanged views on the current political predicament, and they expressed their resolve to solve this crisis through constitutional means only.
Governor Punjab said that the entire nation wants electoral reform, the solution lies in democracy, and the Pakistan Army does not want any unconstitutional change, adding that a commission should be formed to eliminate electoral rigging completely.
In a conversation with the media, Governor Punjab praised the mediatory role of JI and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for their effort towards solving this current political dilemma through democratic means.
JI chief said that all political opponents should tread carefully and patiently, adding that current players should not add fuel to the fire by taking unconstitutional steps. JI chief expressed his support for Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr.Tahirul Qadri’s ten points of demand.
