Summary Security agencies have expressed concern over usage of drone cameras for coverage of news events.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Amid severe security issues in Pakistan, usage of drone cameras to telecast news events such as political rallies has opened a new debate.
On Monday, the district administration banned aerial coverage of rallies due to security fears.
Usage of drone cameras has been banned on the directives of home department. The ban imposed under section 144 will remain intact for one month, the district administration said.
The decision was taken ahead of Imran Khan’s Azadi (Freedom) March and Tahirul Qadri’s Inqilab (Revolution) March on August 14.
Quadcopters are commonly used by different news channels to conduct aerial coverage of special events. At the moment, they are considered good utility tools that help to film the best possible live coverage.
