LAHORE (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif anc Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif met on Sunday at Prime Minister’s residence in Jati Umra Raiwind and discussed Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) led Youm-e-Shuhada and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s scheduled ‘Azadi March’, Dunya News reported.
Both leaders resolved to deal with the political situation administratively, while agreeing that the atmosphere of anarchy and lawlessness will not be tolerated in the country while the operation Zarb-e-Azb is going on.
They agreed that the law enforcement will be ensured in any case.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif expressed grief and anger over killing of at least three policemen amid violent clashes between police and PAT workers, vowing that the culprits cannot escape the grip of law.
In a statement, CM Punjab strongly condemned the violence on police by Minhaj-ul-Quran workers.
Sympathizing with the families of the deceased policemen, Shahbaz Sharif assured that the blood of the martyrs will not go in vain, adding that the perpetrators will meet their destiny.
At least three policemen died as result of violence by the charged workers. The clashes also left at least fifty five police officials injured in Gujranwala.
Several of PAT workers were also wounded.
Cases under Anti-Terrorism act have been registered against those who attacked police stations in Gojra and Khushab.
PAT workers were equipped with modified sticks having sharp side of the nails attached to attack. Several of the PAT workers also brought stock of stones to attack the law enforcement.
Reportedly, PAT workers also torched half a dozen police vehicles.
