Summary Punjab Government considers filing terrorism case against central and provincial PAT leadership
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Punjab government has decided to book the central and provincial leadership of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) under ‘terrorism act’.
Talking to a press conference in Lahore today (Friday) Law Minister Punjab Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the cases against Dr. Tahirul Qadri can be registered any time and the cases will be registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Several arrests are likely to take place in light of these events.
Provincial Law Minister also told that PAT workers have attacked several police stations of Punjab. He said that PAT workers wanted to create anarchy in the province.
Interior Ministry has ordered the Police to arrest the protesters and use tear-gas only to deal with resistance.
Rana Mashhood said that Tahirul Qadri has incited people to violence. He told that those who have tortured the police officials will be identified through CCTV footage. He told that the people who attacked Police in Model Town today were outsiders and did not belong to Lahore. “Qadri’s me attacked the police. 7 policemen including a Station Head Officer (SHO) are in hospitals right now”, Rana Mashhood informed.
