ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special court granted General Pervez Musharraf an exemption from the hearing of judges’ detention case on Friday, Dunya News reported. Former president Pervez Musharraf’s spokesman Rashid Qureshi told the court that he would come to Islamabad soon.
Judge Aqeeq Ur Rehman of special anti-terrorism court in Islamabad heard the judges’ detention case. Despite court orders, Pervez Musharraf did not appear in the court today. Musharraf’s counsel Safdar Javed Malik presented his new medical certificate in the court. During today s hearing, a petition filed by Musharraf s lawyer sought his exemption from court for the day. The prosecutor, Amir Nadeem Tabish argued against Musharraf’s exemption. Objecting to the medical certificate presented by Musharraf’s lawyer, the prosecutor said that Musharraf is deliberately not appearing before the court. What type of illness does Musharraf have that doesn t go away, he questioned? Musharraf’s spokesman Rashid Qureshi informed the court that he had a word with Musharraf and he would be coming to Islamabad soon. The court granted Musharraf an exemption from today s case hearing. The court was adjourned till August 19.
