ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Khursheed Shah and Qamar Zaman Kaira along with Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP)’s Mahmood Achakzai met Jamat-e-Islami’s head Sirajul Haq on Wednesday in Islamabad, Dunya News reported.
The announcement of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) s August 14 Azadi March and rallies in Islamabad has lead to a heated-political environment in the country. The government is gearing up to handle the challenge while meetings between different political parties continue to be held in the federal capital. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Khursheed Shah said that Asif Ali Zardari wants the government to complete its tenure, adding that all the political parties must struggle to save democracy in the country.
Sirajul Haq remarked that political parties have full right to criticize but there shouldn’t be a deadlock. The democratic process must continue in the country and it’s the responsibility of the government to tackle the issues, he added.
Referring to the suggestions of government’s resignation, Sirajul Haq said that no sacrifices will take place before the Eid of Sacrifice (Eidul Azha).
PMAP’s leader Mahmood Achakzai also met with Sirajul Haq and discussed the political situation in the country.
