LAHORE (Dunya News) — The festival of Eid which marks the end of the holy month of Ramazan continues to be celebrated with traditional and religious fervor till the day three on Thursday, Dunya News reported. Thousands of people can be sighted in the busy city bazaars while the children have turned to parks, zoo and the river side. Special prayers, family gatherings and splendid meals are all part of the Eid ul Fitr celebration.
As the last day of Eid begins, people tend to collect moments of joy till the last minute of the festival. The lavish spread of delicious meals like sheer khurma, biryani and kebabs continues to be served at feasts. Parks, gardens, markets and other recreational spots remain flooded with people. Moreover, short spells of rain added to the joy of citizens of Lahore celebrating Eid with feasting, boisterous festivities and family reunions. The residents made the most of the pleasant weather.
The first day of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated throughout the country with great religious fervor, enthusiasm and zeal on Tuesday.
Eid congregations were held at open places‚ mosques and Eidgahs in all major cities and towns of the country.
The Ulema in their sermons highlighted significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.
On this occasion special prayers were offered for well-being of the IDPs and early liberation of Kashmir and Palestine.
Prayers were also offered for security, progress and prosperity of the country.
Eid congregations were held at hundreds of places throughout the country.
In the Federal Capital, the main Eid congregation was held at the Faisal Mosque where a large number of people including Parliamentarians‚ Envoys of Muslim countries and high officials offered Eid prayers.
