KARACHI (Dunya News) – A policeman was shot dead in an exchange of fire during an encounter with suspected criminals in Godhra Colony of Karachi on Thursday.
An FIR for the murder of Allama Talib Johari’s son-in-law has also been filed.
Police launched an operation on a tip off regarding the presence of militants in Godhra area.
The accused resorted to firing during the raid that killed Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Abdul Jabbar on the spot. An injured suspect was also been arrested.
On the other hand, FIR for Allama Talib Johari’s son-in-law, Advocate Mubarak Kazmi’s murder was filed in Aziz Bhatti police station. Sections of terrorism have also been included in the complaint registered on behalf of the government.
At least nine people were killed in various incidents of violence on July 23. The police and Rangers had arrested four suspects including two alleged target killers. According to reports, the firing on the car took place at Gulshan Iqbal area, resulting in the murder of advocate Mubarak Ali, son of Allama Talib.
