LAHORE/ MULTAN/ DI KHAN (Dunya News) – locals have staged protests in different parts of the country against the prolonged hours of loadshedding in the holy month of Ramzan.

The agitated masses in Lahore, Multan and DI Khan took to the streets against the unscheduled power outages.

According to reports, urban areas are facing up to 16 hours of loadshedding while rural areas are undergoing up to 18 to 20 hours of blackouts.

In Lahore, angry mob blocked Daroghawala G.T Road and protested against loadshedding. The protestors ransacked the complaint centre of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO).
Protesters wrecked the computers and other devices and blocked the streets by burning tyres.

The protestors also smashed the windows of the parked cars.

In Multan, a protest was staged at Sher Shah Road. Heavy contingents of police reached the site and dispersed the crowd.


Angry mob including women and children took to the streets against the unscheduled loadshedding in Bilalabad area of DI Khan and blocked the University Road. The locals of Bilalabad are devoid of electricity for months due to breakdown of the transformer which provoked people to protest.

The residents of Bilalabad also registered their protest by offering Taraweeh on the road and blocked the main road.
