Prolonged loadshedding continues in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

Summary The residents have protested against unannounced power outages in the holy month of Ramadan.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Prolonged loadshedding has added to public woes in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa despite the continued protest by the provincial government.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government headed by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak staged a protest rally a few days ago.

Provincial ministers, members of the KPK Assembly and a large number of the citizens participated in the protest rally against the federal government.

The protesters had also laid siege to the offices of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) but the citizens are still facing 14 to 16 hours power outages in urban and 18 to 20 hours unannounced loadshedding in rural areas.

Following the protest, Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif also held a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and assured him to address the issue of loadshedding in the province.

However, severe and announced loadshedding continues to add to the public woes in the holy month of Ramadan while the residents of different areas have started protest against the city.

The protesters demanded to explain about the issue but they were asked the PECO chief along with his spokesman was busy in official assignments.
