Summary The War on Terror has caused us a loss of $100 billion and claimed 40,000 lives
KARACHI (Dunya News) -- Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch Tuesday said that ration or cash assistance cannot match the sacrifices of internally displaced persons (IDPs), adding that Rs. 30 billion were initially required for the assistance of IDPs while calling upon the nation to be united for the cause.
Baloch said that these were the people who defended our national borders in the wars of 1965 and 1971, adding that they were also responsible for the freedom of Azad Kashmir in 1948.
Abdul Qadir said in a statement that the currently imposed war is much bigger for Pakistan if compared to the wars of 1965 and 1971. He said that this war has claimed 40,000 lives, which cost a loss of $100 billion to the economy and martyred more than 7,000 of our soldiers.
Baloch commented that the Taliban themselves announced a ceasefire and then they themselves retracted their offer for dialogue, which forced the state to initiate the operation.
