Summary Oil supply would resume if the decision of additional tax imposed is reverted.

KARACHI (Dunya news) – Holding a nationwide strike, the All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association has suspended the supply of oil all over the country in a bid to protest against the imposition of 5% additional sales tax.

Sindh government has imposed a 5 percent additional sales tax; the Oil Tankers Association therefore has launched a protest against the imposition. In the wake of which, they have announced to cut off oil supply within the country especially to the power sector. They further threatened to impede the supply to Karachi, if their demand is not agreed upon.

According to the representatives of the association, oil sector is already burdened with various taxes and would not be able to endure any further taxes. The association has furthermore urged the Governor Sindh and Chief Minister Sindh to revert the decision otherwise the oil supply shall not be resumed.
