Summary SIU Police raided Shahrah-e-Quaideen and arrested suspected target killers
KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least three persons were killed in various incidents of targeted killing in Karachi on Wednesday. The demonstrators blocked Shahrah-e-Faisal for several hours in protest against the target killing, Dunya News reported.
The series of acts of terror and violence continued in the city of Karachi as four armed individual riding motorbikes opened fire on persons sitting at the footpath near Pehlwan Goth Gulistan Johar Block 12. This resulted in killing of two individuals identified as Jaleel Abbas and Manzoor Abbas.
The funeral prayers of the slain individuals were offered at Pehlwan Goth; following which, the family and neighbours of the deceased took to Shahrah-e-Faisal along with the dead bodies to protest. The demonstrators started protesting after blocking the road in front of the Shahrah-e-Faisal Police Station.
In another incident that took place at Shahabuddin Market near a parking plaza in Saddar area when two motorcycle riders shot dead an 18-year-old vegetable vendor identified as Sultan.
The body of the deceased was transferred to the hospital for postmortem examination. Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Police raided Shahrah-e-Quaideen and arrested suspected target killers.
According to Special Superintendent of Police (SSP) SIU Farooq Awam, the arrested accused Akbar, Naveed and Danish are involved in crimes like murder and robbery. The accused Akbar had allegedly murdered EOBI’s Assistant Director Qamar Abbasi last year.
