COAS calls on Nawaz, discuss Zarb-e-Azb operation

Summary Says there is no example in history of the sacrifices being rendered by the soldiers of Pak Army.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday.
Raheel briefed Nawaz about progress so far made in Zarb-e-Azb operation.

The PM said soldiers and officers of armed forces were rendering great sacrifices for the cause of the country. He said there was no parallel to their sacrifices in the recent history.

He stated that our soldiers were fighting for the country’s future, adding that Pakistan’s destination should be peace and stability.

Earlier, addressing a public gathering after performing ground breaking of two road schemes costing nine billion rupees in Chakwal, Nawaz said the government had launched unprecedented development projects including energy and infrastructure in the last one year.

Several more projects would be launched in the times to come to bring positive change in the lives of common man, he added.

Giving an overview of projects launched in the energy sector, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said priority was being given to generation of electricity through coal, hydel and nuclear in order to provide cheap electricity to the consumers.

Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said the government was also starting work on Lahore-Karachi motorway project. A new railway track would also be laid between Islamabad and Muzzaffarabad.

On the issue of terrorism, Nawaz expressed the confidence that Pakistan would come out successful in the war against this menace. He said the country would be made abode of peace where lives and properties of every person would be safe.
