Summary Zardari supports PTI's demand for vote recount on four constituencies.
KARACHI (Dunya News) –The former president and co-chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari strongly criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as he supported PTI’s demand for vote recount on four constituencies on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
In a statement, Zardari said that Nawaz Sharif received votes to become a Prime Minister not a king. He further questioned PML-N’s reluctance for vote re-count on four constituencies. Saying that there is no harm in vote recount, he asked why PML-N is hesitating for it. He claimed that whether in Punjab and Sindh votes must be re-counted.
His party accepted the election results only to save democracy in the country, said Zardari. Nawaz Sharif hasn’t been selected as PM to interfere in the issues of other provinces. The whole nation is furious because of excessive loadshedding and water scarcity. The industrial sector is facing heavy loss because of energy crisis.
On the contrary, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has welcomed Asif Ali Zardari’s support in demand for vote re-count. He has also asked former president, Zardari to join in the Long March on August 14. Qureshi stressed the importance of vote re-count and long march in introducing fair and transparent elections in Pakistan.
