PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Central Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has said that the army operation in North Waziristan would be detrimental to the country and the nation if prolonged.
Talking to media after distributing relief goods among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan in Peshawar, Sirajul Haq said the tribesmen were the defendants of the border. They had kept their promises made to Quaid-e-Azam but the government kept none of the promises and pacts.
He further said, “No time frame has been given for the operation. The operation would be detrimental to the country and the nation if prolonged.” Sirajul Haq emphasized that there was dire need to educate the locals and bring reforms in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
He stressed upon that the tribesmen should be allowed to resettle in peace prevailing areas. People belonging to those areas can maintain peace in the region themselves. Central Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami advised the Prime Minister and Army Chief to solve the issues of the migrants on priority basis.
He demanded a financial assistance of 50 thousand rupees for the IDPs, adding that the current aid isn’t enough to fulfill their needs.
