KARACHI (Dunya News) – Government withdrew its appeal to review Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani’s bail in Sindh High Court, Dunya News reported.
FIA had submitted a petition against the approval of Former PM Yousaf Raza Gillani’s bail yesterday at the Sindh High Court.
Deputy Attorney General, Aslam Butt, forwarded the petition at the Sindh High Court requesting to withdraw the petition filed earlier. The stance maintained in the plea states that the previous petition to review the bail was filed without the consent of the Law Ministry emphasizing that the approval of the Secretary Law is obligatory to file any petition, by the law. The petition can, however, be reverted on the orders of the government.
The anti corruption court in Karachi had granted Gillani, bail in all 12 cases including the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) corruption case on June 17. He was accompanied by some of the prominent PPP leaders during the hearing including Sharmila Farooqui and Sharjeel Memon.
The enthusiastic workers of PPP who were present outside the court chanted slogans in the favor of the decision made by the court.
