Courts can intervene if institutions don't work within their ambit: Mulk

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chief Justice-designate Nasir-ul-Mulk said all the institutions should work within their constitutional ambit and not interfere in the administrative matters of each other. He said, however, the courts can intervene if institutions don’t work within their ambit.

A full court reference in the honor of outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jilani held in Islamabad on Friday. Justice Jilani will retire on Saturday (tomorrow) from his service.

Outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani said democracy cannot survive in the absence of an independent judiciary. He said the traditional judiciary had been buried forever.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice-designate Nasir-ul-Mulk paid tributes to the outgoing Chief Justice for his meritorious services to uphold the rule of law and dispensation of justice.

All judges of the Apex court including senior lawyers attended the full court reference.
