KARACHI (Dunya News) - Operation against miscreants and banned outfits continued with full intensity here on Wednesday.

At least four terrorists were killed in police encounter during a search operation near the Northern Bypass.

According to SSP Malir, Rao Anwar, militants, who were killed in the encounter, belong to banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Weapons including a Kalashnikov and three TT pistols were also recovered from the possession of the accused.

Police said that the search operation was launched on the tipoff of the presence of foreign terrorists in the locality. Police added that several suspects were also detained for interrogation.

The alleged terrorists were wanted in various criminal cases, police claimed.

Meanwhile, police killed two kidnappers in encounter in Sachal area and recovered two abducted persons while four accused managed to flee from the scene.

Two accused including an extortionist were killed in police encounters in New Karachi and Paposh areas whereas banned outfit activist Umair was also killed in police encounter in Paposh area.

On the other hand, firing and violence continued to take lives of the citizens. A man namely Ayub was killed in firing on a car near Lucky Star while another man was shot dead in Sohrab Goth.

A man was gunned down in Janjal Goth and two persons were killed Frontier Colony near Gareeb Shah Road in Lyari and Metrowel area.

Moreover, a man namely Habibullah was shot dead in Malir near Bakara Piri while three police officials were injured in firing near Banaras.
