Summary Supreme Court expressed outrage at FIA for not arresting the prime suspect.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya New) – During the hearing of Hajj Corruption case, the Supreme Court remarked in response to the FIA Report that, “Hajj performers were blatantly looted, keep your reports with you, finish this mockery in the name of reporting, if you can’t handle this we shall figure out something else.”
Hajj Corruption Case was heard by a three member bench, presided over by Justice Jawad S. Khawaja. The court inquired from the Attorney General Khawaja Salman Butt as to why has the primary suspect, Ahmad Faiz, not been arrested yet?
“The suspect isn’t taken into custody that suggests no progress has been made in this regard,” he said. To which Director General (DG) FIA responded by saying “we have umpteen to reveal, so we shall request to be heard in the chambers.” Justice Jawad.S.Khwaja countered saying “four years down and they still are unable to arrest the accused.” Justice Gulzaar Ahmad added that the suspect doesn’t seem like an ordinary guy, the government is bringing all its tactics to action but can’t bring him into custody. DG FIA stated saying “it would be a big problem if the information they have gets out in the media.” Justice Gulzaar responded by saying “it’s a matter of Hajj, enlighten everyone.”
Court was informed that red warrants have been issued for the suspect, Ahmad Faiz. A complaint for his deportation had also been filed in 2011 in Saudia Arabia. A progress report on the Hajj Corruption Case is also present. Justice Jawad.S.Khwaja reiterated the FIA to stop forwarding and maintaining meaningless reports, we shall look forward to arrange something else if you find it that complicated.
