LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Monday paid unannounced visits to Ramazan budget bazaars unannounced and without the security protocol. He said people will not be left on profiteers’ mercy, adding that he will monitor prices of items during Ramazan himself, Dunya News reported.
Shahbaz Sharif ease dropped at a budget bazaar located at Lahore’s Township area without proper security protocol where he inquired about prices, quality and availability of consumer items. He directed the administration to make potatoes available in the markers upon discovering the shortage.
He instructed to lower the rates of chicken by at least Rs 20 per kilogram compared to the market rate. He said Okara administration has to explain why the sale of discounted chicken was stopped.
Chief Minister said that consumer items are discounted on religious festivals worldwide and that our conduct in this regard is contrary to religious fervor.
He visited a Ramazan bazaar in Okara as well. He heard consumers’ complaints and issued directives on the spot. People chanted slogans in favour of Shahbaz Sharif on this occasion.
