PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Army Chief Gen Raheel Shareef visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Friday.
Defense Minister Khwaja Asif and Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch were accompanying the PM while, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Chief were also present on the occasion.
The prime minister laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shohada and offered Fateha.
Later, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani briefed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS General Raheel Sharif on ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.
It was told in the briefing that 232 terrorists had been killed so far during Operation Zarb-e-Azb and 20 hideouts of the militants had been destroyed whereas eight personnel of security forces embraced martyrdom and seven others were injured.
The PM was also briefed on facilities being provided to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
