Summary Almost 700,000 children were expected to be given anti polio drops.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - Anti-polio immunization campaign has been started in nine districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The campaign in Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshehra, Bannu, Kohat, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan has been launched with the financial assistance of Saudi Arabia.

During the anti-polio campaign in which some 2,400 teams were participating, almost 700,000 children were expected to be given anti polio drops.

Children of IDPs from North Waziristan are also being administered anti-polio vaccine.

The law-enforcement agencies have been directed to tighten security in the two cities.

The entry and exit points in both Peshawar and D.I. Khan have been sealed and a restriction on riding motorcycles has also been imposed.

The local administration has banned bike-riding in Peshawar district where hundreds of policemen have been deployed to provide security to polio workers.
