Summary Opposition rejected the budget while terming it 'anti-public'

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Opposition parties in Punjab Assembly started uproar just when the Punjab finance minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman began the budget speech. Leader of the opposition Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed rejected the budget while terming it ‘anti-people.’ Opposition members even torn down the budget copies in protest, Dunya News reported.
The opposition members especially those of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ) started shouting in protest just as the minister started reading the budget. The opposition members surrounded the finance minister while raising their budget copies.
Amid the uproar, the speaker of the assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal had to put on his headphones to listen to the budget speech.
Reportedly, the government members responded with counter slogans.
The opposition leader said that it is a democratic right to protest, adding that he won’t remain silent when public is fooled.
Responding to the opposition’s protest, finance minister termed it ‘unreasonable,’ adding that the opposition has insulted their voters.
