KARACHI/LAHORE (Web Desk) - Budget of country’s two big provinces, Sindh and Punjab, will be presented on Friday.

Budget sessions of both provincial assemblies have been summoned in Lahore and Karachi today.

Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rahman will present 2014-15 budget, while Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will present provincial budget for the next FY.

The total volume of Sindh’s budget is expected about more than Rs. 650 billion while Punjab budget’s outlay would be Rs 1044 billion.

Prior to budget sessions, provincial cabinets will be giving the approval of the new fiscal year budget proposals.

According to sources, in Punjab, Rs. 330 billion will be proposed to allocate for development projects, Rs. 35 billion for irrigation system and Rs. 31 billion for power projects.

Special funds will also be allocated to start Metro Bus service in Multan and Faisalavad.

On the other hand, in Sindh budget Rs. 22 billion will be allocated for Development Projects. The government has pitched tax collection target at Rs 470 billion. Law and order budget will be Rs 55 billion, with Rs 9 billion increase as compared to last year. Similarly, allocation for Sindh police in the budget will be Rs 47 billion.
