Karachi returns to normalcy on MQM's appeal

Summary MQM Coordination Committee has vowed to continue sit-in.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Commercial activities, which remained closed for the past two day, resumed in different areas of Karachi on Thursday morning on the appeal of MQM Coordination Committee, Dunya News reported.

Markets, hotels and gas stations reopened in different parts of the city on Thursday. Local transporters have also resumed their services.

On the other hand, MQM Coordination Committee has vowed to continue sit-in until Altaf Hussain is released.

MQM Deputy Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui thanked Sindh traders, transporters, industrialists, shopkeepers, politicians, social and religious personalities, school owners, and people from all other walks of life for their handful cooperation.

Earlier on Wednesday, MQM chief Altaf Hussain contacted party’s International Secretariat from local hospital and talked to members of Coordination Committee and other officials about his situation.

Speaking on the phone, Altaf Hussain directed his followers to obey law and show patience during this hard time.
