LAHORE (Web Desk) - India has released 30 fishermen and 5 civilian Pakistani prisoners and handed them to Pakistan Rangers at Wagha Joint Border, Dunya News repoorted on Friday.
The move by India came after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
Earlier, 150 prisoners who were released by Pakistan reached Vadodara in Gujarat late on Wednesday night. Pakistan had freed 150 prisoners as a goodwill gesture a day ahead of Nawaz Sharif s visit to New Delhi.
59 fishermen were released from the Malir jail in Karachi and another 92 from the Nara jail in Hyderabad in Sindh province. They had been arrested for violating maritime border.
