ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today (Thursday) formally received invitation sent by India’s PM-elect Narendra Modi, Dunya News reported.

Invitations to Heads of Government of all SAARC nations, including the Pakistan Prime Minister, were sent out on behalf of Modi yesterday to attend his oath-taking ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai have already confirmed their participation in the event.

PM Nawaz Sharif is, however, yet to confirm. He is still considering whether or not to attend the swearing in ceremony, and a final decision will be taken by Thursday evening, a government official said.

On the other hand, Indian media has claimed that PM Nawaz has accepted the invitation and both leaders will hold one-on-one talks as well.
