Summary Opposition parties staged walkout after PML-Q was not permitted to table its resolution.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Assembly on Monday passed a resolution expressing solidarity with Pakistan Army.
The House passed the resolution moved by the treasury members. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah presented the resolution.
The resolution lauded services and sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army in the defence of the country. The resolution further said that the House condemns the tactics that want to create controversies among the make state institutions including Pakistan Army controversial.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) was not allowed to submit its resolution in favour of Pakistan Army.
The Punjab Assembly session was underway in chair of Deputy Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani when PML-Q’s parliamentary leader Monnis Ilahi sought Speakers permission to speak. He was asked to submit his resolution after question hour.
When Moonis Ilahi tried to table the resolution, the Deputy Speaker said that he deid not receive the copy of the resolution while the PML-Q leader was not allowed to speak.
Opposition members stood up on their seats after they were not permitted to speak on the resolution. They staged walkout from the House.
Talking to media outside Punjab Assembly, PML-Q leader Moonis Ilahi said that the PML-N did not want to permit Opposition to table a resolution in support of Pakistan Army.
Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood-u-Rasheed said the opposition parties staged walkout to express solidarity with PML-Q.
