People should stand up against political, economic terrorism: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE (Dunya News)—Jamaat Islami (JI) Chief Sirajul Haq appealed to the public on Sunday to stand up against political and economic terrorism. He urged the Prime Minister to tell who wants to sabotage the Taliban-dialogue process, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a protest rally at cricket ground of Wahdat Road area of Lahore, he said that the country is facing several types of terrorism and not just the armed one. He said that people have long suffered political, economic, cultural and financial terrorism at the hands of political elite.
He urged the participants of the rally to stand up against ‘non-armed terrorism’ which he dubbed as political, economic, cultural and financial terrorism.
He said that the country has been ruled by the ruling elite Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) turn by turn, claiming that their leaders have embezzled billions from public money.
He further said that neither party brought the other on accountability which plunged the country’s economy.
He said that people who deserve to be in prison are sitting in the assemblies in current regime.
JI Chief slammed the proponents of the idea that Pakistan was not created in the name of Islam. He asked why did the founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah resigned from congress and termed Quran Pakistan’s constitution on various occasions.
