LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi indicated on Sunday the will to become part of opposition’s grand alliance. He said that people have given their verdict against the government by speaking against election rigging, Dunya News reported.
Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ) leader said that characters who rigged general election of 2013 are being exposed, adding that former Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin Ji Ibrahim admitted one such character was former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.
Addressing journalists in his residence in Lahore, he claimed that people’s mandate was stolen in the general elections 2013. He said that people have proven by taking to the streets and roads against election rigging that they did not vote for the current regime.
PMLQ leader said that the characters involved in election rigging are now being exposed, adding that people are now realizing who were involved in the play of election rigging.
He also condemned Punjab government’s alleged attempts to stop protesters by threatening transporters and using other tactics.
Exactly one year after general elections 2013, opposition parties are holding massive demonstrations against the ongoing crises, mismanagement, bad governance and alleged election rigging. Major opposition parties including PTI, Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT), Jamaat Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ) have hopped on board except for the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which is the largest opposition party and led the previous government.
