ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - State Minister for water and Power Abid Sher Ali has expressed dissatisfaction over the efficiency of power distribution companies.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that system of power distribution was not developed during last seven years.

Abid Sher Ali said that National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) was also responsible for the flaws in the system.

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government would not deceive the masses like past government.

The minister said that Prime Minister has directed to improve the system of electricity in a month.

Abid Sher Ali said a contract has been signed with Pakistan Railways for transportation of oil for the power generation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday directed to reduce loadshedding duration in the country.

Presiding over a meeting in Islamabad, the PM directed bringing down load-shedding to six hours in urban and seven hours in rural areas in next few days.

He directed to shift the fuel supply through Railway to power houses to avoid leakages, pilferage and corruption.

The meeting was informed that 3,500 megawatt electricity will be added to the national grid from hydel sources by the end of this month. Out of this, 1,000 MW will be added to the national grid on Sunday.

Similarly six hundred and thirty MW will be added to the system through additional supply of fuel to Muzaffargarh and Jamshoro power plants.

The PM also directed the reactivation of the dormant power stations.
