Summary The decision came after the assurance by the Sindh government to probe into workers killings.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Coordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), after a detailed consultation, has delayed protest sit-in against the killings of party workers.

A meeting of the coordination committee was held simultaneously in London and Karachi on Monday night. The meeting discussed 72-hours ultimatum for the recovery of missing workers.

The committee also discussed assurances by Sindh CM, former interior Minister Rehman Malik and other higher authorities to probe the extra-judicial killings of MQM workers.

After a thorough consultation, the coordination committee delayed the protest for the time being. The coordination committee expressed the hope that the Sindh government would launch an impartial and immediate probe into the extra-judicial killing of the party activists and ensure the recovery of missing workers.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee last Friday had given a 72-hour ultimatum to the government for recovery of its missing workers. MQM also demanded military and judicial inquiry of extrajudicial murders of party workers.

MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar warned government that MQM will take to streets and national highways of Sindh if missing party workers were not recovered.

Sattar demanded an investigation commission under supervision of Corps Commander Karachi and an unbiased monitoring committee to observe and oversee the ongoing operation in Karachi.

He said that if any of MQM workers was involved in any criminal activity then they should be presented to court after proper indictment.
