KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced to hold Sindh-wide day of mourning tomorrow (Friday) to protest murders of four persons whose bodies were found at Memon Goth area of Karachi last night and were identified as MQM workers, Dunya News reported.
According to MQM Raabta Committee’s Deputy Convener Nasir Jamal, all four deceased belonged to MQM. He said that the victims identified as Sameed, Salman, Faizan and Ali, were kidnapped from Country Tower.
Reportedly, limbs of the victims were tied down and police also found bullet shells nearby dead bodies.
The workers who became target of unknown killers belonged to Gulshan Memar area and the fourth one belonged to Gulshan Iqbal sector.
According to MQM, tortured bodies were recovered from same area previously as well.
Inspector General (IG) Iqbal Mehmood took notice of the incident and ordered Additional IG Shahid Hayat to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.
After the deceased were identified as MQM workers, a large number of family, supporters and sympathizers gathered outside the Edhi morgue.
The outraged individuals staged a protest outside the morgue with many throwing stones on the passing by vehicles.
MQM’s leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said while addressing a press conference that two party workers are still missing. He said that they did not get justice and protection even from courts.
Siddiqui said that the party workers whose arrest is not in the official records end up dead. He warned that party reserves the right to freely devise future strategy if extrajudicial killings are not stopped.
