Summary Syed Khurshid Shah says that Parliament is the supreme institution of the country.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah held a meeting here on Wednesday and discussed political and overall situation in the country.
On this occasion, Khurshid Shah said that Parliament is the supreme institution of the country. He said that sacrifices made by politicians for the sake of democracy would not be rendered to waste, adding that they were not obligated to follow any one’s undemocratic desires.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said role played by the opposition for the continuation of democracy was admirable. He said that the government would not take any step that lessens role of democracy and dignity of the institutions.
Both the leaders also discussed loadshedding issue in Sindh. Khurshid Shah said that meter of any electricity thief in Sindh can be removed but the authorities should not remove transformer from the area.
He said that the issue of electricity arrears would be resolved through contact with the Sindh government.
Khawaja Asif also assured to solve the issue of electricity loadshedding in the province.
