Summary Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique attended the inaugural ceremony.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Nine new engines imported from China were inducted into Pakistan Railways today (Saturday), Dunya News reported.

Railways Minsiter Khwaja Saad Rafique inaugurated the locomotives in a ceremony held in Karachi today. It is first induction of new engines in PR in 13 years.

On the occasion, the minister said Railways need four hundred more engines to revamp the department.

Under the agreement, China will provide fifty eight engines by the end of this year and another consignment of twenty three engines will reach Pakistan shortly.

Khwaja Saad Rafique has expressed the determination that performance of the department will be improved by inducting new engines.

He reiterated that biasness and bribery will not be tolerated in the railways.
