KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi police arrested a five-member group on Friday allegedly involved in target killing motivated by sectarianism. According to Additional Inspector General (IG) Shahid Hayat, the accused were involved in targeted killing using licensed weapons, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a media conference, Shahid Hayat said that a target killing group has been arrested in connection to the recent sectarian killings. The head of Furqan also known as Babaji gang, Faisal, Abu Turab, Riffat Hussain and Azhar Hussain are alleged members.
9MM pistols were also recovered from the suspects. Additional IG says that the accused used licensed weapon for target killing.
Hayat said that the accused carried most of their activities in the eastern areas of the city. He said that the accused carried out recce and made footages of the targets using cameras hidden in the hat.
