KARACHI (Web Desk) - Polling is underway for the by-elections of Sindh Assembly constituency PS-35 (Larkana-I) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly PK-86 Swat, Dunya News reported on Thursday. 

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Sohail Anawar Sayyal and independent candidate Shafqat Unar are contesting by-elections from PS-35 (Larkana-I).

The seat had fallen vacant after the election commission disqualified PPP MPA Altaf Unar on February 26, 2014 for failing to submit his asset details.

In PS-35 Larkana-I, the total registered voters are 118,816 out of which 56458 are female voters. In all, 118 polling stations have been set up for the purpose in Bakrani, Dokri and Larkana Talukas of Larkana district.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate Dr Haider Ali Khan, JUI-F and ANP’s joint candidate Advocate Ali Shah Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Khan, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Muhammad Shahi Khan and Pakistan Mili Awami Party candidate Mukhtiyar Khan Yousafzai are contesting by-polls for PK-86 seat.

PK-86 seat had falled vacant after the election tribunal disqualified PML-N MPA Qamoos Khan over fake degree and rigging in the general elections.
