Sahiwal rape case: CM Punjab suspends DSP, SHO, investigation officer

Summary Three suspects have been arrest while three others are still at large.

SAHIWAL (Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif today (Tuesday) visited Sahiwal and met parents of a girl who was allegedly gang-raped, Dunya News reported.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister expressed his sympathy with the victim’s family.

CM Shahbaz, who was accompanied by Inspector General of Punjab police, summoned relevant police officials and scolded them for mishandling the case.

The Chief Minister suspended DSP, SHO and investigation officer over their negligence in the case.

“The IG and RPO will also be suspended if culprits are not arrested within 48 hours” he ordered.

He also ordered police to complete the challan against the culprits in three days and told that he would request the judges to hear the case on daily basis.

It may be mentioned here that the incident took place two months ago in Chak R5-81 village of Sahiwal. Accused Safdar Ali, Kamran, Pervez, Abdul Rehman and two others had allegedly gang-raped 16-year-old Samina Bibi.

Three of the accused have been arrested so far while others are still at large.
