KARACHI (Dunya News) – As many as five persons died, while several others injured in eleven cracker explosions carried out across Sindh including Karachi on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, unidentified men threw a bag full of explosives at Zamzama Street in Karachi resulting in cracking of windows of nearby buildings.
Another man died as result of cracker attack at a shop at Buffer Zone area.
A grenade attack was carried out at a house in Korangi Mehran Town, no loss was reported as a result.
Unidentified men threw explosives at a car in Gulistan Johar area which resulted in injury of two persons.
Another explosion took place at Safawara Chowrangi area when motorbike riders threw explosives at a shop.
Investigations were underway into the incident and it appeared to be a case of extortion, said newly-appointed Station House Officer (SHO) of Clifton Ghazala Syed, the first woman to be appointed as an SHO in Karachi.
Hand grenade attacks by motorcycle-borne masked men also took place in the city of Hyderabad, Dadu and Jacobad.
Police said four incidents were reported from Hyderabad and its outskirts.
Blasts were also reported on up-country railway tracks in Sehrish Nagar, Qasimabad taluka and Khursheed Colony of Kotri in Jamshoro district.
A blast occurred in the heart of Hyderabad outside Radio Pakistan building on Meeran Mohammad Shah road.
