(Web Desk) – Four Pakistani crew members of the hijacked cargo vessel Morning Glory arrived in Karachi today (Saturday) from Libya.

Morning Glory’s Captain Mirza Nauman Baig arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while three other crew members arrived at the Karachi airport today.

The Pakistani crew members had been handed over to the embassy in Tripoli after their rescue from the Libyan rebels by the US forces. The vessel and the crew had been taken over by the Libyan rebels.

Talking to media persons in Karachi, the released crew members thanked the government for its efforts for their safe return to the homeland.

They said the Pakistani embassy in Tripoli and the Foreign Office officials greatly helped them. They said the Libyan rebels wanted to use the vessel to move the stolen oil to Cyprus.

Captain Nauman refused to disclose details regarding the incident saying that it could jeopardize the safety of the remaining crew members of the oil tanker still in Libya.

He said it was the blessing of the God and prayers of the people that he got released and arrived home safely.
