LAHORE (Dunya News) - Federal State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that electricity theft should be eliminated and anyone involved will be punished.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, Abid Sher Ali said that a letter had been written to MNAs and MPAs to cooperate with officials to eliminate power theft from the country.
He maintained that privilege motion filed against him in the National Assembly over action against power thieves, but he would not spare anyone. He vowed to take strict action against the power thieves.
Abid Sher Ali said that now no honest power consumer will pay the bill of electricity thieves.
Responding to a question regarding KPK trades’ demand for low power tariff as compared with other provinces, the state minister stated that Mangla and Tarbela dams are not property of any province but these are national assets. Therefore, no discount would be given to any province.
