ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan has emphasized focused efforts to stem the use of children in armed conflicts.
This was stated by Pakistan s Permanent Representative‚ Masood Khan at a debate in the UN Security Council.
He also reiterated call to end drone strikes as they infringe the rights of children to life‚ education and development.
Masood Khan said pushing children into combat situations is inhuman and this scourge must be‚ stopped.
He said tens of thousands of children continue to be recruited‚ killed or maimed and deprived of their right to education and healthcare when schools and hospitals are attacked.
He reaffirmed Islamabad s support for the mandate‚ reporting and monitoring procedures to protect the rights of children in armed conflicts.
