 PESHAWAR (AFP) - At least eight people were killed and 11 injured when a roadside bomb targeting a polio vaccination team exploded in restive northwest Pakistan near the Afghan border Saturday, officials said.

The bomb detonated in Jamroud Town in the tribal Khyber area, senior official Jahangir Khan told AFP.

The injured and the dead are taken to the nearby hospital. the security forces have cordoned off the area and an investigation is underway.
