KANDHKOT (Dunya News) - At least six people were killed while 30 others injured in an explosion at railway track near Thul station. The blast derailed three bogies of Khushhal Express that was en route from Karachi to Peshawar.
According to Railway officials, three bogies overturned due to the explosion. The police and rescue teams rushed to the blast site soon after the incident. The dead and the injured were taken to the nearby hospital.
The passengers were reportedly evacuating the injured passengers from the affected bogies on self-help basis before the arrival of rescue teams. However, several people were still trapped in bogies.
President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the terror attack.
Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq has ordered inquiry into the incident and directed concerned officials to submit the report within three days.
