Summary The third phase of 'Sehat Ka Insaf' programme started in Peshawar today.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A policeman was killed in a blast on Charsadda Road of Peshawar on Sunday.
According to details, the roadside bomb was planted near the check post of the Justice for Health programme which was setup near the graveyard on Charsadda road.
The blast killed one police official identified as Bakht Naseer while another was injured in the incident.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and police immedialtely reached the blast site and cordoned off the area. According to BDS, 1.5 to 2 kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast. This is the first blast reported during the Sehat Ka Insaf campaign in Peshawar.
Meanwhile, the third phase of health programme started in Peshawar today. During this stage, special coupons are being distributed among parents through which they can get their children inoculated against nine deadly diseases from any public dispensary of the province.
The citizens would also be provided hygiene kits that include dengue awareness pamphlets and tablets to clean water.
During the first and second phase, over 750,000 children were vaccinated against polio and other deadly diseases.
Strict security measures are taken to avoid any untoward situation.
