KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least 51 prisoners from different jails of Sindh including Karachi will be transferred to Punjab following terror threats to prisons.

The prisoners will be shifted to jails of Lahore, Rawalpindi and Sahiwal.

According to Dunya TV sources, the decision was taken after Kot Lakhpat, Adiala and New Jail Sahiwal were declared safe and secure.

The lists of prisoners that will be moved to Punjab have been made. The transfer will take place into phases.

The prisoners include target killers, members of banned outfits and militants involved in suicide bombing. Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan ordinance will also be applied to the transferred prisoners, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the trail of high-profile prisoners will also be held in jails. The IGs and heads of jails were informed about the decision.
