Peace talks useless after Karachi blast: PPP leader Khursheed Shah

SUKKUR (Dunya News) – Opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah said the peace talks hold no meaning following the attack on police mobile in Karachi.

Addressing media in Sukkur, Khursheed Shah said his party supported the government to hold talks with the Taliban despite criticism from several political parties. Shah lamented that the peace talks were useless following the recent terrorist attacks across the country.

He said Nawaz Sharif should take a firm decision on this sensitive issue like a true leader, adding that the PPP would completely support the government whatever decision it takes to curb terrorism.

On the other hand, the government and Taliban committee are likely to hold a meeting on Friday.
According to sources, the meeting will be held in evening. However, the location has still not finalized. The meeting is likely to take a decision over ceasefire agreement.
The meeting will also discuss the responsibility claimed by banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) of the Thursday’s Karachi blast.
One of the members of Taliban dialogue committee professor Ibrahim said a meeting with government committee was scheduled for today.
He also said the meeting would discuss the letter issued by the government negotiators to the media over the peace talks.
