ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Asian Development bank will provide nine hundred million dollars to Pakistan to complete Jamshoro coal powered project.
An agreement to this effect was signed in Islamabad on Wednesday by Secretary Economic Affairs Division Nargis Sethi and the ADB Country Director.
Under the agreement‚ the bank will assist Pakistan to complete two units of 660 megawatt each at Jamshoro power plant which will generate electricity through imported coal.
Two more agreements were signed on the occasion regarding infrastructure development in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion‚ Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the government is taking concrete measures to generate cheap electricity to overcome power crisis in the minimum possible time.
He said various furnace oil power projects are being converted to coal based plants including establishment of Gaddani Coal Power Park.
