PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – At least 10 people were killed when some unknown militants stormed the house of a special force personnel in Pakistan s northwest Peshawar city, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
The early morning attack took place in Badaber area.
Police said that the militants hurled hand grenade at the house first, and when the family members came out of the house they opened fire at them, killing all of them right on the spot.
According to sources, only men were targeted in the incident, whereas, women and children remained safe.
It was reported that there were between 20 and 25 attackers.
It may be mentioned here that terrorists had attacked the same house few days back killing three people including special force official Zafar.
Neighbors said that the deceased helped police to arrest many insurgents, which enraged the militants, who killed him and his whole family.
No groups claimed responsibility for the attack, but police said that the militants came from neighboring tribal area of Khyber fled back following the attack.
Police cordoned off the area and kicked off search operation.
Peshawar, the capital of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has seen numerous bomb and gun attacks in recent years.
